What’s been happening:

Ever since graduating from PSU in 1982, I have served as a missionary in Latin America. Although not serving in my major, PE teacher, I have made good on what I learned by teaching purpose-driven recreation and making ample use of Experiential Education in camping and low ropes courses. With a team of Latins, we have published a twenty volume Games Encyclopedia in Spanish with over 1000 games and recreational activities (I started collecting games while at PSU). I am married to Alfredo Umana, a wonderful Honduran man that I met while teaching a camp counselor course. My husband is a business consultant. We have the blessing of two children, Valerie and Victor, and have planted roots in Honduras. I work a missionary with Christian Camping International, in charge of coaching and mentoring a cadre of volunteer instructors who teach Christian camping courses throughout Latin America. I am also responsible to update periodically our leadership development curriculum (over six volumes for camp counselors, program directors and Bible study developers). I have warm memories of my years in PSU and continue to root for the Nittany Lions whenever I get the chance!
